This luxurious and generously sized (7.9 oz!) body bar is inspired by zero waste and regenerative living ideals.  The key ingredients in this bar are either upcycled or give back to the community and environment from which they were harvested.  The bar will fill your shower with an awakening and fresh aroma of palo santo and luma (myrtle blossoms), promoting a sense of serenity and connection in your busy day.  The soap creates a lovely creamy lather and will last 3 months, depending on storage and frequency of use.

The Palo Santo essential oil in this soap is distilled from naturally fallen dead wood, which is collected in partnership with traditional communities in Peru, under the supervision of the Peruvian ministry of forests (SERFOR). The purchase of this Palo Santo essential oil helps support the preservation of forests from clearing for agriculture. 

The “terrazzo” look of the bar is created using upcycled pieces of our complexion soaps that were too imperfect to sell.  We donate most imperfect bars to a local women’s shelter, but still had too many fragments that we wanted to repurpose to reduce waste. For this reason, this soap is only available in limited quantities.

Like with all Apoterra Products, the purchase of this soap will plant 1 tree.

Palo Santo Essential Oil // The aroma of this essential oil promotes serenity, a feeling of security and promotes connection to the earth. Distilled from the palo santo tree, which is native to South America, its name means “holy wood” and it is traditionally used in ritual for cleansing the environment. The Palo Santo essential oil in this soap is distilled from naturally fallen dead wood, which is collected in partnership with traditional communities in Peru, under the supervision of the Peruvian ministry of forests (SERFOR). The purchase of this Palo Santo essential oil helps support the preservation of forests from clearing for agriculture.

Luma Essential Oil // Also known as Peruvian myrtle blossom or Arrayán, Luma essential oil has a very refreshing & purifying aroma which helps calm and balance emotions. Luma is a medicinal shrub native to the Andean region that is traditionally used as an antioxidant and skin cleanser. Our peruvian myrtle is wild grown in the Sacred Valley region of Cusco, Peru. Our supplier works with community partners to trim and collect branches of this renewable resource.

Olive Oil // A fatty acid rich oil that is pressed from the fruit of the olive tree. Olive oil is traditionally used in French soap and lends moisturizing properties to our cold process soap. Our olive oil is extra virgin, cold pressed and certified organic.

Ingredients: saponified oils of Olea europaea (olive) oil*, Cocos nucifera (coconut) oil*, Elaeis guineensis (IP RSPO sustainable palm) oil*, and Theobroma cacao (cocoa) seed butter*, Bursera graveolens (sustainably harvested Peruvian Palo Santo**) essential oil, Luma Chequen (Peruvian Myrtle) essential oil, Aloe barbadensis leaf *, kaolinite (clay), Simmondsia chinensis (jojoba) oil*, Rosa damascena (rose petals)*,Cucurbita maxima (pumpkin pulp)*, Cucurbita pepo (pumpkin) seed oil*, Bixa orellana (annatto) seeds*, Azadirachta indica (neem) oil*, Maris sal (Dead Sea salt), activated charcoal essential oil blend*. *organic

HOW TO USE

In your shower or bath, massage the Palo Santo Body Bar with wet hands until a rich, milky lather forms. Massage lather into wet skin to cleanse. Rinse with warm water. For an immersive and luxurious experience, we recommend following your shower with our body oils

THE DETAILS

One full size bar can last about 3 months if kept dry in between use and if used by one person daily. To extend the life of your bar, we recommend storing your bar on a soap dish, like our Earthenware Apoterra soap dish , that prevents the bar from sitting in water and allows the bar to air dry in between use.
